The first of February marks a promising year for Wedding & Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP), having recently concluded its Organizational Election at the Cafe Lupe. Kasal.com warmly congratulates this year's WPPP's Board of Directors.

Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP) is the premiere organization of professional Filipino wedding photographers.  It is recognized locally and internationally as the leading organization of wedding photographers who are artistically and technically proficient. 

The Organization was founded on March 31, 2001 with the gathering of the following wedding photographers, Emil Buencamino of Buencamino Photography, Jorge Maniquis of Jorge Portrait, Ariel Javelosa of Ariel Javelosa Photography, Lito Genilo of Smart Shot Studio, Danny Ignacio of Vignette Photography, Lito Perez of Close Ups Potrait Studio, Eric Nepomuceno of Enrico Nepomuceno Photography, Jerry Valbuena of FJV Studio, Jun Valbuena of Jun Valbuena Digital, and Joray Katigbak of Joray Katigbak Photography.

To date, there are seventy eight (78) active members participating in all activities and projects of the organization. WPPP members come from Metro Manila, Baguio, Boracay, Bulacan, Cavite, Davao, Iloilo, Laguna, Batangas, La Union, Pampanga, Vigan, Bacolod, Legazpi City and Sorsogon.

 

Mr. Lito Sy has served as WPPP President from 2009-2011 and is now one of the Organization's Advisors.

Board Secretary Elmer Castor relates the Organization's high hopes for the year, especially with the upcoming WPPP Photo Congress, which is now on its 10^th year. The WPPP Photo Congress is an annual multi genre convention of professionals and enthusiasts in the wedding photography industry sponsored by WPPP. This was spearheaded by now President Mr. Danny Ignacio who was the Chairman of the WPPP Photo Congress Committee last year. This year, the torch has been passed to Mr. Richel Mascarinas, the now Vice-President for External Affairs.

The group is set to meet on the 15^th of this month to make substantial and concrete plans for the year. Meanwhile, for camera enthusiasts and supporters out there, surely, there will be more clicking, not only of cameras but of wine glasses to toast for what seems to be another promising year for the Philippine wedding photography and videography industry.
