Lito Genilo Wins Again in WPPI 2013 Photo Competition

Master lensman Lito Genilo of Smart Shot Studio is back from WPPI Las Vegas, armed with new ideas and a prestigious award to boot.

Wedding & Portrait Photography International (WPPI), founded in the 1970s, was formed to provide "a much-needed forum for photographers who had long asked for guidance, and an association of their own." The WPPI Conference+Expo is the "premier industry event for photographers and image-makers specializing in the creative and business aspects of wedding and portrait photography." Close to 16,000 professional and aspiring photographers attend the event annually to learn new techniques, see new products, and network with the best in the wedding photography industry. The 2013 WPPI Conference+Expo was held at MGM Grand Las Vegas last March 7-14, 2013.

According to Mr. Genilo, "I make it a point to attend the WPPI Conference every year to ensure that Smart Shot Studio is always updated with new skills and products from the Industry. This also allows us to check how our service fare against international competition and regularly evaluate room for improvement and innovation."

And like all his past visits to WPPI Expo, Mr. Genilo is pleased to share he has won another award this year for his wedding photo entitled "Love will keep us together." This artistic rendition of a couple's love earned him an Accolade of Excellence Award in WPPI's prestigious Awards of Excellence 16x20 Print Competition. Mr. Genilo shared, "with over 2,000 image entries, the competition for imaging excellence this year was fierce and I am just glad I made it once again."

Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP) is the premiere organization of professional Filipino wedding photographers.  It is recognized locally and internationally as the leading organization of wedding photographers who are artistically and technically proficient. 

The Organization was founded on March 31, 2001 with the gathering of the following wedding photographers, Emil Buencamino of Buencamino Photography, Jorge Maniquis of Jorge Portrait, Ariel Javelosa of Ariel Javelosa Photography, Lito Genilo of Smart Shot Studio, Danny Ignacio of Vignette Photography, Lito Perez of Close Ups Potrait Studio, Eric Nepomuceno of Enrico Nepomuceno Photography, Jerry Valbuena of FJV Studio, Jun Valbuena of Jun Valbuena Digital, and Joray Katigbak of Joray Katigbak Photography.

To date, there are seventy eight (78) active members participating in all activities and projects of the organization. WPPP members come from Metro Manila, Baguio, Boracay, Bulacan, Cavite, Davao, Iloilo, Laguna, Batangas, La Union, Pampanga, Vigan, Bacolod, Legazpi City and Sorsogon.

 

Mr. Lito Sy has served as WPPP President from 2009-2011 and is now one of the Organization's Advisors.

Board Secretary Elmer Castor relates the Organization's high hopes for the year, especially with the upcoming WPPP Photo Congress, which is now on its 10^th year. The WPPP Photo Congress is an annual multi genre convention of professionals and enthusiasts in the wedding photography industry sponsored by WPPP. This was spearheaded by now President Mr. Danny Ignacio who was the Chairman of the WPPP Photo Congress Committee last year. This year, the torch has been passed to Mr. Richel Mascarinas, the now Vice-President for External Affairs.

The group is set to meet on the 15^th of this month to make substantial and concrete plans for the year. Meanwhile, for camera enthusiasts and supporters out there, surely, there will be more clicking, not only of cameras but of wine glasses to toast for what seems to be another promising year for the Philippine wedding photography and videography industry. Filipino Wedding Photographer Celebrates Silver Wedding Anniversary

Kasal.com Team congratulates Mr. Danny Ignacio, Vice President External and Photo Congress Committee Chairman of the Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP), and his wife Yolanda or 'Yayie' as they celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Ignacio renewed their vows last August 30 at the Immaculate Conception Parish Church in Cainta, Rizal. With them were their children, Bogs, Dann Carlo, and John Cyrill, family members, and friends from the Philippine wedding photography industry.

Their wedding anniversary celebration coincided with the birthday of Sir Danny, owner of Vignette Photography.
