Filipina Nanny Gets Invite to the Royal Wedding

Araceli “Lillie” Piccio is a nurse from Bacolod who is the first Filipina ever hired by the Royal Household. For eight years, she was a member of Lady Di’s household staff until Lady Di died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

“Miss Lillie”, as called by Lady Di, received an invitation to the Prince William and Kate Middleton Royal Wedding. Columnist Ricky Lo confirmed this in an interview with Lillie’s sister Nimfa “Buddai” Piccio.

Aside from working under Lady Di’s household staff, Lillie was also reported to have been the nanny of Prince Harry and Prince William. A few months after Lady Di died, Lillie resigned from the Royal Household Staff and worked for another employer, Bryan Adams, for more than a year. Today she is with a different employer.

When Lillie left the Royal Household Staff, Prince William who was then turning 16 told Lillie, “When I get married, I will take you back.”
