Zsa Zsa Padilla on “Karylle-Yael Wedding”

The Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla in an interview in ABS-CBN News said that she has nothing against a possible marriage between her eldest daughter Karylle and Spongecola frontman Yael Yuzon.

In the interview, she shared her belief that Karylle is already of age to make her own decisions in life.

According to Zsa Zsa, once a child turns 18, he/she should already be considered adults and therefore should have the freedom of choice.

The Karylle-Yael romance was made publicly known by Yael's brother and Pupil's lead guitarist, Yan Yuzon last January. It turns out that the two had been a couple since 2010 though they have always been mum about it and frequently refused to answer questions straightforward.

Japan Crisis Inspired More Wedding Bells

A Japan Wedding.

In Tokyo, professional matchmaker Miyuki Uekusa became more busy than usual after the 9.0 magnitude earthquake last April 11, 2011. It seems the crisis made couples started to think more of marriage.

Her agency, Marry Me, has sent 30 couples to the altar within a span of two years. They noticed a change in the way couples thought of marriage after the tragedy. The professional matchmaker shared that the images of the catastrophe left people more fearful of being alone.

Phone inquiries about joining her club have gone up 30% since the massive earthquake and tsunami incident while existing members became more serious in going on dates.

"I need to act now, before another massive disaster strikes," Yoko, a new member, said. A 49-year old make up artist, she joined the club inspite of the steep price of $1,200 sign-up fee and $120 monthly charge. Because of the tragedy, she was jolted to adjust her priorities in life and realize the importance of relationships.

The wedding industry in Japan seemed to be the only bright spot after the tragedy, compared to other sectors like manufacturing and tourism that are struggling to recover. There has also been a reported increase in the sales of engagement and wedding rings as compared to other luxury items.

As one bride-to-be shared, she will walk down the aisle with a new sense of purpose  -  the disaster is a sad reminder of the importance of having a family, of having someone to love and be loved in return.

Mike Enriquez Spills on Pia Guanio - Steve Mago Wedding

TV and radio broadcaster Mike Enriquez shared his scoop on TV host Pia Guanio and businessman Steve Mago wedding. According to Enriquez in a taped interview, the newly-engaged couple is thinking of having a beach wedding.

In GMA News show “24 Oras” last May 11, Guanio confirmed her engagement to Magno after barely a year of being together as a couple.

Though there’s still no set date and venue for the wedding, it's already been reported that Guanio’s “24 Oras” co-anchors Enriquez and Mel Tiangco will stand as two of the principal sponsors.

The engaged couple also guested in Enriquez's DZBB radio show where each spoke lovingly about the other. Both of them seem to share values of being family-oriented and spiritual - qualities which endeared them to each other more.

Enriquez approves of the two, saying in an interview, “Aprub na aprub [ako] sa lahat.”

“Royal” Chinese Wedding

Want to be married like Duke William and Duchess Catherine? Well, you're not the only one! A Chinese couple has beat you to it.

Inspired by the British royal wedding, a Chinese couple decided to get married and have a procession with ceremonial garb and a horse-drawn carriage complete with guards in scarlet uniforms last April 18, 2011.

Wang Xueqian, the 23 year old groom thought of the idea and his girlfriend liked the thought of riding in a carriage. Their wedding procession  in eastern Nanjing city involved 50 people, a dozen cars and two horses.

The couple got it down up to the regal waving to the crowds watching them as the row of guards with tall, furry hats and red coats were around the carriage. Four women in white dresses and floral head wreaths led the procession while carrying a banner with the bride and groom's name.

The groom hired a wedding planner named Hu Lu, who shared that the “royal wedding carriage” theme is increasing in demand as three more couples are having a similar procession the next month.

"Every bride wants to be princess Snow White when they get married," she said.

Though the “royal wedding carriage” is an expensive addition to a wedding (the groom reportedly paid $7,600 for their wedding parade), China's economic affluence these past three decades are giving Chinese couples a choice to become more creative and inventive in their weddings.

For us, we have yet to see royal-inspired weddings here in the Philippines. Don't you just want to be like a princess even just for your wedding?

Royal Honeymoon will be in Seychelles

The Royal Wedding Kiss.

Seychelles or the Republic of Seychelles will be the honeymoon destination for newlyweds Duke William and Duchess Catherine.

Seychelles is “an island country spanning an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, some 1500 kilometers east of mainland Africa, northeast of Madagascar”. A luxury villa on an island in Seychelles is where the couple would celebrate their delayed honeymoon. They will reportedly spend ten days at 4000 pounds a night on the island.

A main consideration for choice of honeymoon location is privacy for the couple. The Duke's protection officers have already assessed the top-secret location and found it suitable for the required safety and privacy of the couple.

The luxury wooden villa has an open-air bathroom, a private garden, a freshwater rock pool and a personal butler and chef. A private jet will take them from the main island to the undisclosed location. The royal family was reportedly prepared to take legal action necessary to prevent media intrusions to the honeymoon trip.

The new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will celebrate their honeymoon later this month. William was forced to split his leave for the wedding and the honeymoon due to his work as a search and rescue pilot in the Royal Air Force station in Angsley.

Mariel and Robin: Married but No Babies Yet

Watching the Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez romance that led to marriage, people following the couple’s romance are wondering when the baby would come into their new family. But the celebrity couple shared in an interview that both of them are choosing not to have a baby yet.

Robin and Mariel prefer to enjoy their union as long as they want to.

Robin shares in an interview that he wants to remain Mariel’s only “baby” for now. Mariel agrees and said that she also wants to give her full devotion to her husband for now.

Robin Padilla on Catholic Wedding

MANILA, Philippines – Robin Padilla’s reaction to retired Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz's comment on the Robin and Mariel planned Catholic Wedding on June might include a letter to the Vatican.

About two weeks ago, Cruz commented that the Catholic wedding of the celebrity couple will be prohibited because some Islam beliefs in marriage are not in line with that of the Catholic Church. It was in August 2010 that Mariel and Robin wed secretly in Taj Mahal in India under Muslim rites.

"Dapat rin siguro sumulat rin tayo sa Vatican, ano? Kasi nando'n naman ang Canon Law eh. [Para malaman] kung ano ba talaga ang ruling," Padilla said in an interview.

"Kasi kung ang pagbabasehan natin ay 'yung mga naririnig lang natin at 'yung mga papeles na nanggagaling sa ating mga mahal na obispo, mas maganda na 'yung manggaling direkta dun," he reasoned.

Robin is working hard and talking to various people to make clear of the issue as it is Mariel’s dream to have a Catholic Wedding.

"Pangarap niya [Mariel] 'yun eh. Wala namang Katolika na babae na hindi nangangarap na lumakad sa altar at ihatid ng kanyang magulang. Sa ngayon eh mananatiling pangarap," said he.

Apart from possibly involving the Vatican in their marital dilemma, Padilla is consulting various priests for help. Though he understands Cruz’s objection, he stresses that the Church should not worry since he is already separated from his ex-wife Liezl Sicangco.
